Gaited Horse Saddle - Special Saddles for Special Horses
By: Sandra Geldart

When searching for a gaited horse saddle be sure to look around and talk to experienced horsemen.
A gaited horse is different than the usual trotting horse, they move differently, and require a specialized gaited horse saddle to be at their best in both comfort and performance.

Whether you ride a Tennesee Walker, Paso Fino, Peruvian, Rocky Mountain, or any of the many other gaited horse breeds, you know that gaited horses have a lot of movement in the back and shoulders and the rigid treed english and western saddle can actually work against the horse's natural way of going. Riders are now finding themselves looking to the more flexible tree and even treeless saddles to provide the freedom that their horses require.

Although it is fairly easy to find a gaited horse saddle, not all of them will fit your horse, or suit it's way of going. Be sure to look around and choose a reputable saddle maker and a retailer you can trust. Having the saddle custom fitted to your particular horse is always a good idea, since a saddle that doesn't fit is no good to anyone.
